TMR School for the Blind

A Visually challenged child at our center undergoes fundamental academic learning similar to a regular child. To master the subjects and manage their lives independently, these children are taught additional skills. This structure of the teaching is referred to as the ‘expanded core curriculum.’

The scope of the Expanded Core Curriculum includes;

  • Using braille to read and write
  • Learning to move about in the environment safely and independently, which is known as orientation and mobility (O&M);
  • to use specialized computer equipment and other technology devices designed for children with visual impairments;
  • Improving their ability to use their existing vision capacity effectively and efficiently.

The students are taught by experienced teachers specialized in working with the visually challenged. The center is headed by Dr. Usha, a qualified General Practitioner who is visually challenged and dedicated to holistic learning.
